What is Enterprise Ireland Warsaw?
Enterprise Ireland is the Irish governement agency focused on transforming Irish industries. Their core mission is to eccelerate the development of world-class Irish companies to achieve strong position in global markets resulting in increased national prosperity. Within Enterprise Ireland Warsaw office, they work closely with international buyers to identify and introduce to Irish supplieres who can best meet their needs. In addition, Enterprise Ireland Warsaw office covers all Baltic countries are – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
IV Polish-Irish Tech Innovation Forum
The Forum will take place on 13th March, 2019 in Krakowski Park Technologiczny, as a part of Irish ministerial delegation to Poland, led by Kevin Moran, Minister of State for Public Works.
The event brings together representatives of entrepreneurial community in Kraków, Polish and Irish enterprise agencies, investment funds, Polish organizations involved in fostering innovation in Polish economy, and the Irish-Polish business community. The Forum is being organized by Enterprise Ireland, the Government of Ireland’s enterprise agency, in association with the Embassy of Ireland.
During the Forum, speakers will present:
– Irish tech & innovation ecosystem including examples of successful startups led by Polish nationals
– Case study of Irish cybersecurity company Smarttech247 with service delivery center based in Kraków. Smarttech247 was the 1st company to implement IBM Watson for Cybersecurity in the European market. The solution was delivered to the largest Irish global business services provider.
– Overview of Kraków’s OMGKRK community
Ireland’s technology and innovation ecosystem is thriving and contributes significantly to Irish economy, which is now the fastest growing in EU with 5.6% growth rate in 2018. High tech exports constitute 40% of total Irish exports and, in 2018, the Global Innovation Index ranked Ireland 10th, while the European Commission ranks Ireland as number one for obtaining economic impact from the transfer of technologies from the academic research system.
The Irish Polish Innovation Forum is an opportunity to highlight the close economic relations between Ireland and Poland. Irish companies are very active in Poland, with over 50 having offices or facilities ranging from software development and project management to farming equipment. Likewise, members of 130 000 people strong Polish diaspora in Ireland exercise their entrepreneurial skills and establish innovative startups in technology, food and marketing engaging with Enterprise Ireland who in many cases have provided seed capital and access to global markets throughout its network of 33 offices. In 2017, two-way trade between Poland and Ireland amounted to €3.4 billion, with the value of Irish exports to Poland exceeding the €2 billion mark.
