The Hack Tour Stops In Krakow September 15th : Slush, Startup Suana & Junction x Krakow Technology Park & #OMGKRK
A startup community that truly works together is the cornerstone of the growing Nordic startup scene. To continue to help startups around Europe, the Nordic startup scene has brought together Slush, Startup Sauna and Junction into an event series called the Hack Tour with stops in Tartu, Riga, Vilnius, Gdansk, Krakow and Budapest –
Startup Ecosystem in Finland, One of the Best Ecosystems
There’s a lot of talk on the streets about where’s the best startup ecosystem, which regions get the most investments and where most of the exits come from. That’s all great, but it’s not often that we actually see organisations from these startup ecosystems do things together, like actually together – pooling resources and know-how and making a measurable impact.
That’s what is done in the Nordics and the numbers speak for it: only 3% of Europe’s population comes from the Nordics, yet 50% of billion dollar exits come from the regions. They’re actually pooling the resources of the community once again, with Startup Sauna and Junction, and going on the road across the Baltics on a trip that called the Hack Tour.
The Hack Tour: Krakow
The Hack Tour: Krakow is a series of events hosted together by Slush, Junction, Startup Sauna and Krakow Technology Park + #OMGKRK. The idea is to gather emerging tech talent, tech enthusiasts and startups for a day of hacking, learning and networking. The Hack Tour: Krakow events include startup coaching by Startup Sauna and a coding workshop with Junction. We will end the day with a networking party at Święta Krowa combined with some relevant information on how to get the most out of conferences, and possibly win tickets to both Slush and Junction.
Startup Sauna’s event in the Hack Tour is in their regular local event format, where up to 10 best early stage startups in each city are chosen for a half day of coaching. Startups are coached 1-on-1 by experienced serial entrepreneurs, investors and industry experts from our extensive Nordic and European coach pool. Best performing startups receive Slush tickets and a fast-track to Startup Sauna’s 7-week zero-equity accelerator, starting on October 16 and ending on the Slush stage on November 30.
Junction is all about developers and tech enthusiasts, and is best known for organizing the biggest hackathon in Europe. On Hack Tour they are partnering up with local industry-leading tech companies to provide hands-on workshops for participants to attend and learn from. Workshop themes vary from city to city, including introductory classes about APIs to more advanced real-life mini-challenges. Junction events are for anybody interested in programming, tech and building cool stuff in general. Event prizes include granted invitation to Junction 2017 held on November 24–26 in Helsinki, increased travel reimbursements and other super awesome surprises as well.
